Letting people tell their own stories.

The challenge was capturing participant stories to use across our communications. I had tried individual outreach, email forms, and longer surveys, but nothing was getting responses.

My role was creating Share My Why, an Action built directly into the Ecochallenge platform. Instead of asking people to go somewhere else to share their experience, I met them where they already were — logging actions and earning points. I understood how motivated our audience is by points during an Ecochallenge and made sharing your story worth completing. The form asked three simple questions: what program they participated in, what they learned, and what their aha moment was.

The result was hundreds of stories from people around the world sharing their experience in their own words. I used those stories as social media assets, crafted them into narratives for blog posts and emails, and more.
